Abstract: Virtual Reality is an emerging field with diverse employment opportunities ranging from programming, engineering, design, and media development. In this primer to virtual reality game design, students will cover the basics that make up a great user experience. Learners will discover how VR (Virtual Reality) has evolved, how to set up a VR headset properly, and how to work with the graphic features, physics system, and user interface. Students will also touch on managing multimedia in the game engine. By taking this micro-credential, students will consolidate their knowledge by designing and building a game in their final assignment.
The learning outcomes are 1. Review the history of Virtual Reality--2. Discover how to set up various VR headsets--3. Explore Unity’s graphical features including, Scripting, Multimedia, and the User Interface--4. Develop and build executable VR applications.
This micro-credential includes learning lessons, student activities, and assignments. The course can be downloaded into a learning management system such as Desire2Learn or Brightspace.
