dc.description.abstractUnderstanding Media & Culture provides foundational knowledge about modern mass media, its impact on our global cultures and you as in individual. It covers topics in digital media, social media, media literacy, digital news, podcasting, and gaming. Further, it covers the historic context of modern mass media as it emerged from film, television, music. Finally, the topics of propaganda, advertising and public relations are examined. The course will challenge learners with two major assignments where they will create two media products of their own such as a podcast or social media campaign.en_US
