This course was developed by the Arts & Science Internship Program (ASIP) in the Faculty of Arts & Science at the University of Toronto. ASIP combines 12 to 20 months of paid work experience with specialized professional development training. Our priority is to provide an opportunity for ASIP students to further develop in-demand transferrable skills. To support this, we developed this industry-partnered course consisting of 12 skill development modules. Students complete this two-semester course in their third year prior to completing their second work term (8-16 months). Please refer to our instructor guide for further details about the project and a summary of each module. You may also preview and explore this course as it was designed in the Canvas learning management system by visiting: https://q.utoronto.ca/courses/307316en_US
During students’ second work term, which they will undertake after this course, students will also complete a module on ‘Workplace Innovation Skills for Employment Success’ (also supported through the Virtual Learning Strategy). This module teaches students about how workplace innovation, and specifically job crafting, can be leveraged to benefit both their professional development and the goals of the organization.en_US
