This project creates a cyber-physical realm for a problem-based law learning environment that mimics a theoretically informed lawyer or emerging reflective practitioner providing advice to simulated clients.en_US
The metaverse has the potential to change how a university education is delivered. A university lecture is traditionally delivered in real time, by a real lecturer to a limited audience of real students. The rise of virtual environments such as Zoom have changed this, but not significantly or effectively in the law school context. The metaverse has the potential to integrate creative curriculum development with experiential learning in a way that is not possible on Zoom or in a bricks-and-mortar institution. As the metaverse evolves we will likely see transitions away from exclusively traditional forms of university and law school education.en_US
The goal for our project is to use the metaverse to effectively merge academic and professional skills to facilitate problem-solving and knowledge creation in real-world legal contexts.en_US
