Abstract: | This open educational resource allows instructors in the field of education to have access to current and relevant content for incorporating experiential learning into their courses. These educational modules bring innovative practice to courses which contribute to deeper learning and provide for a richer and enhanced experience within the teaching field. These modules are intended for an undergraduate sociology of education course or an education course. Modules can be used: • sequentially as a course package • as standalone open educational resource modules where instructors select modules to present • as a self-directed resource Each module includes content, reflection questions, a brief recording (Dr. Kathleen Moss, Department of Sociology & Anthropology and Eric Hardie, Executive Superintendent, Upper Canada District School Board), an assessment, and resources used. The modules explore how learning experiences relate to the weekly themes and experiential learning. Engaging with this innovative open educational resource allows sociology students to benefit from interdisciplinary thinking with regards to the course topics and explore experiential learning from a practical, theoretical, and research-informed lens. |
