Abstract: This course aims to provide an introductory level overview of TouchDesigner as a creative tool within Media Arts in Interaction Design, through the development of various interactive projects instructed by creative technologist Ali Phi. Phi covers workflows that includes: texture operators, channel operators, surface operators, materials, instancing, point clouds, photogrammetry, network communication protocol, projection mapping, sensor inputs and python scripts. These modules place a strong emphasis on learning creative techniques to interaction design while producing artistic outcomes. Students with an interest in producing interactive experiences with TouchDesigner will get a close understanding of visual programming, prototyping techniques and troubleshooting approaches through the perspective of a media artist.
