dc.description.abstract This course is designed for students who already have some basic computer skills (such as familiarity with Windows, basic word processing, and internet searches), while deepening their confidence and competence with Windows and Office apps Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook on desktop as well as the cloud. In addition, the course helps develop an understanding of digital citizenship, including topics such as AI, copyright, digital footprints, social media use, privacy, and the digital divide, all through the lens of the Anishnaabe Seven Grandfather Teachings. The course is designed to be portfolio based, with students choosing a theme based on their interests or goal paths and creating resources on that theme for their final portfolio presentation. Students are directed to create or use templates on Office and on resources such as Canva to make digital resources.
