dc.description.abstract The field of nursing faces enduring challenges is changing behaviours towards Indigenous people, with extensive research documenting instances of discrimination and racism. Despite recommendations set out in the 2015 TRC (Truth & Reconciliation Commission) specific to the need for change in healthcare education, much effort remains to be done. The aim of this project is to use technologies (AR/VR/XR) to create immersive experiences for nursing students regarding the care and treatment of Indigenous People, in order to significantly increase the understanding and abilities of new nurses to approach Indigenous patients with competence and care. The first part of the project focuses on background research and scenario-building for a VR course to be developed in a next phase of the project.
