This guide is a course resource for students taking PHYS-1045: Exploring Nature at Fanshawe College. Readers will learn about key topics related to biodiversity, outdoor safety and the role of community science in conservation efforts. Readers will also learn to use iNaturalist for hands-on learning about local plants and animals, and to contribute to biodiversity data for London. The resource also explains the importance of native species and the challenges posed by invasive species, while drawing on examples from Environmentally Significant Areas in London, Ontario. |
