dc.description.abstract The COVID-19 pandemic created a need for alternate, virtual methods to assess the application of student knowledge when placements and practicums are not available. Four simulation activities were created to support Early Childhood Education students. There are two H5P 360 virtual tours: one of an indoor childcare setting, and the other of an outdoor childcare yard. In each scenario, students can explore the space to spot any hazards that may pose a risk of injury to children. There are also two H5P Branching Scenario simulations: an informal scenario where an ECE must explain to a parent/guardian at pickup that their child was bitten, and a formal scenario where an ECE must request, plan, and conduct a case conference with a parent/guardian whose child exhibits biting behaviour. In each simulation, students must select the appropriate response to demonstrate positive and professional communication with a parent/guardian. en_US
