dc.description.abstract This course equips students and upskills professionals with the skill set in analyzing, diagnosing, and quantifying the energy use in buildings and its impacts. Topics are presented using a multidisciplinary perspective. Methods explored include energy analysis, auditing, benchmarking, and simulation. Building components and systems including building envelope, lighting, and HVAC systems are investigated, and their interactive effects studied. A “lightboard” studio is utilized to simulate “live” teaching. AI videos have been created to reflect the diversity of both students and instructors. Built with an online authoring tool, seven modules containing interactive content and the videos are also supplemented by workbooks, presenting course content as a textbook-like material. All are packaged for easy integration into learning management systems. This course is the first of a series of three courses to be developed for a micro-credential program focusing on building energy performance. Intended audiences: architectural, civil, and mechanical engineering. en_US
