Abstract:
The Educators in Focus series features more than 50 instructional videos made by Ontario educators for Ontario educators as a way to inform their professional development, discover new strategies and implement innovative pedagogical practices.
In this video, Ontario educator Marla Zupan suggests how teachers can use Ruben Puentedura’s SAMR model to develop students’ technological proficiency. Using journaling as an example, she explains how the levels of Substitution, Augmentation, Modification and Redefinition can enhance paper and pencil activities through the introduction of specific computer skills (word processing, locating/downloading/attaching images and screencasts/vlogs).
